Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector

A PTLLS Course stands for Preparing to teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector. Achieving this award is necessary to qualify to teach or train further education in the adult learning sector.

The PTLLS Course usually takes five days to complete, and consists of 30 hours of learning. There are also assignments given and time during the course for self-study. PTLLS also includes learning in the workplace. It just means that even in the workplace, as an adult, there will be always learning experiences to keep up with new ideas and new technology.

Parts of the PTLLS course contents include understanding your own role and boundaries of a teacher. Learn the aspects of current legislative rules within a specific context. Know how to meet the needs of the learners. Explain equality and diversity. Discuss the need to keep records. Teach rules and establish appropriate respect and behaviour for others. Motivate the learners and encourage them to give feedback. Show examples of session planning skills and sessions to meet the needs of each individual learner.

The PTLLS Course is now a requirement to take before taking any courses to become a teacher. It is a helpful course for teachers and for anyone in the workplace. It is good for a business to send their employees to this training to keep up with progress in the workplace.
