Can a Whole Community Protect Itself Using Only CCTV?

Disaster happened when I got back home from my fantastic one week break. My home got burgled. Now I have endured the complete routine of being the victim of a home burglary: the shock of viewing upturned rooms, the disappointment at the apathy of the police, and the bother of sorting out the house insurance.

Now I have to protect my property from burglary in an even more vigorous fashion. One option I will try is to set up CCTV utilizing a CCTV kit. One of the issues of my burglary was the fact that no neighbours saw the burglars. CCTV cameras ought to remove this problem from occurring as police (and insurance) can refer to recorded footage.

In fact, many of the property owners of my housing estate are pooling together and hoping to totally cover all of our roads and properties with Closed Circuit television. It will mean we would all have to buy Closed Circuit television kits for each of our properties, while collecting funds together to cover also common spaces like roads.

It might appear to be quite a reaction, but by using Closed Circuit television I am confident the break-ins can be stopped or, if not, find out who is committing them and can present some evidence to the police.
