Arctic Monkeys Announce Details of New Single

Arctic Monkeys have announced details of the exclusive 10-inch vinyl single release of their forthcoming single ‘Cornerstone’ through charity shop Oxfam.

The vinyl single will be available in the top 50 of the charity shop’s music stores across the UK from November 16. Each one will come with a code to allow fans to download the MP3s of the songs on the release.

In addition the band have announced that they have hidden “golden tickets” for their forthcoming sold-out UK tour in copies of the single.

The release will include three new B-sides: ‘Catapult’, ‘Sketchead’, and ‘Fright Lined Dining Room’.

The move follows’ Arctic Monkeys’ release of last single ‘Crying Lighting’ – the seven-inch vinyl version of which they made available in Oxfam.

We already knew that the next Arctic Monkeys single from their 2009 third effort ‘Humbug’ was going to be the slow-burning ‘Cornerstone’ and we were even given the rather subtly brilliant Richard Ayoade-directed video for the single mid-last month.

However what we didn’t know then is that just like their previous Crying Lightening single, they’ll be releasing an Oxfam exclusive version of the track when it hits stores in just one weeks time (November 16th).

A 10-inch vinyl of the track will be available for just 50p through the charity store and comes with three extra b-sides by the names of Catapult, Sketchead and Fright Lined Dining Room. The singles will also come with a digital code which you can use to download the tracks online.

Th band have also confirmed that a few hidden ‘golden tickets’ to their sold-out UK tour have been placed in some of the single cases.
